Album Review - Children Collide: Time Itself (August 27, 2021)

Time Itself the fourth studio album of Melbourne, Australia band Children Collide is back to kick your ass. With driving guitar filled rhythm sections and a post-punk aura to it, the newly reformed alt rock outfit are here to rock. Each track is a microcosm of what makes Children Collide such an interesting group. Musical freedom has always been at the core of this three-piece, and it really shows on tracks like "Aurora", "Mind Spider", and "Return to Femmes".

Yes, Children Collide hit harder than most alt bands, but it's not at all overkill because of its ability to be melodic. Children Collide just hits different and evokes memories of 90's alt to us. We could easily see them rocking the stage at Lollapalooza on some summer day gone by. That's not to say that their sound is dated, because it most certainly is not. You can tell that with this being their fourth effort, Time Itself is not Children Collide's first rodeo and they know what the hell they want to say. All we have to do is shut up and listen.
