#SundayFunday Setlist: Overused Graduation Tunes

Welcome to the #SundayFunday Setlist. Today, we will focus on Alt Revue jams that can make your Sunday count. This will be a mix of easy listening alt, get up and get down alt, and songs for the soul. If anyone has checked social media lately, you will see that graduations are happening all across the country right now. Let's focus on a few songs that always get dusted off for prom/graduation/end of the year time.

Green Day - Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

They might as well have alternate lyrics for this track with the amount it has been used at proms and graduation. In fact, I have a buddy who used to sing "I hope you had the best time at the prom" during the memorable chorus. Don't get us wrong, we still love this song, but the overuse is crazy. I still get the sense of nostalgia from hearing it, which I think many others feel as well. Why not jam it out on this #SundayFunday? There's a chance it will be on anyway.

Vitamin C - Graduation (Friends Forever)

To be fair to this track, I think this is what Vitamin C was going for and this track has since been used in thousands of end-of-the-year slide shows. Luckily, we do not hear this song used a ton during the rest of the year. If you're sitting around thinking about your own graduation, enjoy the flashback. I'm sure most people have a memory attached to this track at this point.

The Rembrandts - I'll Be There For You

On top of this track leading off every episode of "Friends" during the run of the series, it is also used as end-of-the-year/transition, loyalty, and dedication song. The song discusses undying loyalty and connection, which is exactly the mood at most grad parties. It can be fun, but there's a chance you're over this song. If you're not, enjoy the video above!

Queen - We are the Champions

This track has been used for sporting events, graduations, and many other calls for celebration for years, but with the release of Bohemian Rhapsody in theaters and the hype surrounding the movie, we hope to hear this song quite a bit. The movie has introduced Queen to an entirely new generation, which will never be a bad thing. We are glad to be singing this song again!

Fun. - We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe)

This song isn't super old, but it has been finding its way onto playlists for a while during graduations and proms. We still love this song and the enthusiasm wrapped into it. We know some of the lyrics aren't exactly bubbly, but the song is an anthem at its best. Jam out to this one, especially if you haven't heard it in a while.
