Philadelphia indie rock heroes Mo Lowda and the Humble are back from another long tour with their fifth LP! Titled Tailing the Ghost, the album was recorded on the road (more on that later) over dinners, poker games, and movies. Having heard the album, the sense of togetherness is there from Mo Lowda and the Humble. We got to sit down with them for a few questions about their upcoming LP!

  1. Much of this album was recorded on the road in some scenic places. Can you expand on how this recording technique impacted the record?

"This was the first that our own members Jeff and Shane didn't engineer. That gave them time to be just musicians. We all tracked the songs live. All four of us sitting in a room together really helped create for some cohesive songwriting. I think that's what sets this one apart."

  1. Can you give us a bit of backstory on the writing of "Canary"?

"Took the title from a fan in Houston who had given him a custom Telecaster. I knew I was sitting down to write the lead single when I sat to write that one. That song the way the parts all of play off each other shows what we do as a band."

  1. How did you arrive at the tone that you were aiming for in Tailing the Ghost?

"Leading up to the week that I wrote some of the singles, but Jeff and I were having a conversation, he's such a fantastically talented musician. We had this conversation about tracks that set one tone and live their for the entirety. We just wanted to set the groove and keep you there for 3 to 4 minutes. We really streamlined and made simple and emotive tracks just never overthinking."

  1. You've always been an impressive touring band. You have another tour set up at the end of this year. What are some places and venues you are looking forward to hitting most?

"Denver is always one that embraces us we sold out our first few in Denver. That's one we always circle on the calendar. We're playing the Gothic Theatre. We're playing Union Transfer for our hometown show. Austin, TX on Halloween, I'm sure that'll be a party. We have built friendships touring and it's so fun to reunite with our little crews"
