Mumford and Sons Live, 'Prizefighter' Tour!

Marcus Mumford truly is a captivating showman.

Marcus and his band, Mumford and Sons brought their Prizefighter tour to The Hard Rock Seminole, in Hollywood, FL last week.

There is something to be said about a fan base, and Mumford & Sons fans are among the kindest you'll find. Passionate about their favorite band, they created a sense of community that was impossible to miss. New friendships were formed while waiting in line and standing in the pit. People held spots for one another to take breaks, made sure water reached those who needed it most, and showed a level of respect that allowed everyone to enjoy the music. Best of all, no one shouted so loudly that you couldn't hear the band. It was a refreshing reminder of how special a concert experience can be when fans look out for one another.

Whether a longtime fan, or newer fan, this show left no one wanting. The lads came out to “Run Together”, from their latest release, “Prizefighter”, then transitioned right into fan favorite, “Little Lion Man”.  The opening moments set the tone for the evening, blending new material with songs that first captured the hearts of fans, instantly energizing the crowd.

Towards the end of the show, a temporary B stage was quickly put up, Mumford asking the crowd politely and hilariously to ‘Kindly shut the fuck up’ as a singular microphone was placed in the middle of Mumford and his band.  These quiet moments led to beautiful harmonizations of “Timshel”, “Reminder”, and a cover of Bruce Springsteens “I’m on Fire”. In a venue holding thousands, it somehow felt as though the band was playing for each individual lucky enough to attend.

The show closed out with “Rushmere”, “The Banjo Song”, and the ever so popular “I Will Wait”. Nearly 17 years after the release of the bands first effort Sigh No More, it’s clear that Mumford and Sons will continue to command stages for years to come. Their ability to blend new material with beloved classics, all while creating an atmosphere that feels both intimate and electrifying, is a testament to their enduring appeal.
