undressed: A Conversation with sombr

We had an opportunity to interview New York bred, LA-based artist sombr! He's taking off globally on TikTok, the BILLBOARD Charts, and on the road as he embarks on a tour this summer. Check out what he had to say in our one-on-one!

1. Your new single "undressed" is a banger we can't get enough of! Can you give us a little bit of background that went into the writing and recording process for this one?

   "This is about not wanting to start a new relationship because you are longing for the old one. You want the familiar and not the unknown. I recorded this late at night in my home studio when I had time to reflect and everything was quiet. I normally work on music through the night when I can focus without interruption."

2. As a New York native, do you feel like the music scene there has had any influence on your sound which is both playful and soulful at the same time?
   

   "For me, New York City is a beautiful place full of dramatic energy, emotions, feelings. My music is very influenced by where I come from."

   
   

3. You've seen a great deal of success rather quickly, how does it feel to be where you are even from just a couple of years ago? And what goals do you have for your music that you would like to achieve?

   "It's been pretty crazy lately. I am flattered and just glad my music is reaching a lot of ears. I love this job and I just want to keep making music!"

   
   

4. What have you learned thus far in a rapid rise within the business that you carry forward to today?

   "My restlessness keeps me going. I have learned that you have to keep creating, you have to stay focused, you cant give up. Ever."

   
   

5. What's next for you?

   "More songs, an album, and more touring!"
