#HotTake Review - Voodoo Logic - Within Us
Corpus Christi, TX's own Voodoo logic is back with another EP, Within Us. The alt-rock five piece seamlessly incorporates sounds from rock of the 70's and 80's into a new alt-rock vibe. If you remotely like rock music, you should be here for Within Us. It's got ripping guitar riffs, chunky basslines, and booming drum fills.
Some of the highlights of this one include the absolutely bone crushing riff on "Never Fade Away", the heights reached in the hook of "Watching Over You" (particularly the harmonies). The methodically placed guitar on "Less Than Human" and the almost funk-tinged elements found on "People Pleaser".
Voodoo Logic continue to grow as a unit and push forward on this release. As growing attention comes their way, we'll continue to say they're one to watch. Especially if you're in the South Texas region and can catch them live. They are stunning. I'm looking forward to hearing some of these new tracks live, once we can that is. This one's available on all the things, so go out and find it, you'll feel some nostalgia to classic rock but something new and altogether different at the same time.
