If there’s one thing I’m sure of, its that The Lumineers put on one hell of a show.
I was lucky enough to survive a Ticketmaster site crash (honestly, do better) and score
a coveted ticket to The Lumineers Automatic tour in Hollywood, Florida.
The Lumineers continue their tradition of bringing on strong openers with this tour.
Chance Pena entered the scene as a contestant on The Voice in 2015. His set was a
nice surprise, and his final two songs ‘The Mountain is you’ and ‘I am not who I was’ are
going to become quick favorites of mine. I suggest giving him a listen if no frills folk is
your thing.
There is something electric about a smaller venue that really lets artists connect with
their audience. And that rang true in this case. Audience participation is encouraged at
a Lumineers show- the crowd and band feeding off of each other throughout.
Leading the charge, front man Wesley Schultz led the crowd through old and new
favorites. Opening with their latest single, ‘Same Old Song’, off their latest release, and
ending strong with ‘Stubborn Love’, off their self-titled debut.
The Lumineers continue to prove their artistry and staying power in the indie folk space
and are aging like a fine wine. If you did not catch them on this tour, you missed the
boat.
