Today on Collector's Corner we have a very special album, it's Everclear's Songs From An American Movie Vol. One! With the 25th anniversary of this seminal alt-rock album, the band and Intervention Records have taken such care to do this release justice. This is the first time the album has been released on vinyl, as when it first came out in 1999, CD's were still the primary method of releasing new music and vinyl had not made the unexpected comeback that it has. With that in mind, I was informed by Intervention Records that because the original masters were made for CD production, the band and Intervention Records actually had to work with Universal Music's Archive team on producing new masters for the re-release of this album on vinyl. What's clear is that Everclear and Intervention Records put in the work.

Originally produced by Everclear singer-songwriter and guitarist, Art Alexakis, this album features some smash hits for the band including "Wonderful", "AM Radio", and a brilliant cover of Van Morrison's treasured hit "Brown Eyed Girl". Everclear has always held a special place in my heart in my heart, as I, like Alexakis come from a broken home. Something that the last time we spoke we had an opportunity to speak about how it can impact your life and your art. The jacket features the original artwork photography from Frank Ockenfels. The jackets were printed by Stoughton Printing!

Now to the vinyl! It's on a gorgeous 140G transparent yellow vinyl that is numbered to 2,000 copies! So get your hands on this bad boy while you can! It was pressed by Gotta Grove Records and is completely analog (so you know it sounds gorgeous!) and it was mastered by Kevin Gray from those original master tapes as mentioned earlier. The vinyl sounds great! It truly encapsulates everything about one of my favorite bands from this era that truly spoke to my heart through their lyrics and sound. "Wonderful" is a song that has moved me like few others have. To finally be able to have this track and so many others that appear on this carefully crafted release on vinyl is something special and shows that Everclear and Intervention Records are doing the most when it comes to bringing this 90's classic to life!
