As many of you know, every June marks the celebration of Pride globally! Pride is a celebration and an acknowledgment of the struggle for equality for members of the LGBTQ+ community worldwide. It takes place in June to commemorate the demonstrations by members of the LGBTQ+ community in Greenwich Village, New York at the Stonewall Inn in 1969. Demonstrators were fighting for equal rights and protesting police brutality experienced in the community. While we have come a long way since 1969, we still have a long way to go.
