Album Review: The Linda Linda’s - ‘Gotta Get Out’

Craving 90’s and early 2000’s nostalgia but stuck replaying the same altrock staples? The Linda Lindas have the cure. They’re back this week with Gotta Get Out, a fresh burst of the punchy, melodic grit that defined the era.

The record wastes no time tapping into that nostalgic altrock vein, kicking off with the title track and instantly reminding us why this era still hits so hard. The all female lineup only amplifies the edge—Gotta Get Out brings back the raw grit and unapologetic attitude mainstream music has been sorely lacking.

Gotta Get Out marks a first for The Linda Lindas. Instead of arriving with fully formed ideas from individual members, the band chose to build this record collectively—writing, shaping, and refining each track as a unit.*

The result being a sound that is entirely their own. An in studio visit from the Alt Rock queen herself, Hayley Williams resulted in “Closer”. Williams assisting in writing the bridge and lending her iconic vocals to the track, telling them “Closer” felt like listening to her teenage self.*

Through their collective songwriting, The Linda Lindas break into a new musical stratosphere, offering a vivid reminder that girls can—and will—set the bar higher.
