No contemporary artist has a voice that can carry you away quite like Florence Welch’s.
Florence + the Machine are entering a new musical era. Everybody Scream- their sixth studio album, covers not only experience, but witchcraft, fame, mortality and spirituality.
Backed by powerhouse collaborators that include Aaron Dessner (The National) and Dave Bayley (Glass Animals), ‘Everybody Scream’ packs a serious punch- in the best way possible.
Everybody Scream shouts Halloween. From the lyrics to the hauntingly theatric backing vocals, and dark, heavy undertones of the song. This starts the album off strong, bringing them back to their earlier, heavier, roots. For a single and title track, this one will be played on repeat.
This album is one you lay back and close your eyes too. The imagery is bar none, which is par for the course with Florence.
"One of the Greats" follows the title track. Ethereal in its own right, "One of the Greats" covers fame and its price with such seething lyrics as ‘I was only beautiful under the lights, only powerful there’.

The album continues and holds true to its otherworldly vibe throughout. "The Only Religion", and "Perfume and Milk", being stand outs in an almost perfect album.
Florence + the Machine will take Everybody Scream on tour in 2026. After unfortunate circumstances cut their 2023 tour short, this will no doubt be the indie ticket of 2026.
Everybody Scream is quite arguably one of the best albums to be released in 2025. And its quite fitting that it drops on all hallows eve.
