Advance Review - Meg Myers: Thank U 4 Taking Me 2 the Disco & I'd Like 2 Go Home Now EP's (November 13, 2020)
Thank U 4 Taking Me 2 the Disco
Thank U 4 Taking Me 2 the Disco is another representation of Meg Myers unique ability to combine alt, pop, and rock stylings into her own sound. It bops while having a bit of bite to it. Myers vocals fit perfectly within these genres, but when they're all fused together it makes it that much better.
The immensely talented musician has continued to build on success found in her prior releases. Thank U 4 Taking Me 2 the Disco represents a continued evolution in sound that will surely to continue to provide Myers success and should lead to mainstream crossover success.

I'd Like 2 Go Home Now
Accompanying Thank U 4 Taking Me 2 the Disco is I'd Like 2 Go Home Now. The EP opens with "True Liars", a epic track that evokes comps to alt pop and electronic music of the past. This musical theme continues with "End of the World", though Myers delivers a gut punch with some emotionally evocative lyrics on this one. She continues the emotional overtones on "Hurt" in a beautifully crafted slow burner.
With I'd Like 2 Go Home Now, Myers is able to continue the threads of grand feeling alt pop melodies that are infused with electronic sensibilities. What's clear with both of these EP's is that Myers hasn't lost the ability to write a banger, she's particularly adept at writing the slow burning ones that hit really hard towards the end. I'm here for it.
