GROUPLOVE came together in 2009 by founding members: Hannah Hooper (vocals, keyboards), Christian Zucconi (vocals, guitar), Sean Gadd (bass), Andrew Wessen (guitar, vocals), and Ryan Rabin (drums). 2014 was a big year for GROUPLOVE; Daniel Gleason officially took Gadd’s place when Gadd left the band to pursue other music options, they played in several music festivals including Lollapalooza and Coachella, and they provided the end credit song, “Back in the 90’s”, for the Netflix series Bojack Horseman. That same year, they also provided the song “No Drama Queen” for Paper Towns. In 2016, they released their 3rd studio album, Big Mess, followed by the EP, Little Mess, in 2017.
Originally known as the “Kool Kats Klub”, Kilo Kish began making music in 2010 with her roommates (Smash Simmons and Mell McCloud). In 2010, Kilo Kish got her big break and worked on a collaboration with The Jet Age of Tomorrow in the song “Want You Still”. Throughout the next few years, she worked on a variety of collaborations with a large group of artists including: Vince Staples, Childish Gambino, and Flatbush Zombies. She released her first EP, Homeschool, in 2012 and has released an EP almost every year since then. Her most recent EP, mothe, dropped this year on September 7, 2018, and features her most popular song, “Elegance”.
Rebecca Ramsey composes, performs, and produces all of her own music. She has mainly been using SoundCloud to release her music. I first discovered Ramsey on the show Shadowhunters, where they featured her song “Love Surrounds You”. I immediately fell in love with her dark, captivating voice and had to find more of her music. “Love Surrounds You” was released last year (2017) on her self-titled EP. Before the EP, she has released about a dozen singles, including “The Garden”, “Cover Up”, “Wrong Heart” and “If You Let Me”. I’m excited to see what this young woman has in store for us next.
