Ozzie and Sarah’s Journey to Sonic Temple Fest - Second Stop: Crown the Empire

Ozzie and I are back on the road to visit our next band—Crown the Empire! Travel with us as we head toward those wide‑open skies, twenty acres, barbecues, and pecan pies—Texas. (Extra points if you know the reference.)

Crown the Empire brings a unique flavor to the metalcore scene. Their ability to weave in a little of each subgenre really shows just how versatile and talented this band is. Not many groups can sample a bit of each style while still staying true to their original sound.

They’ve been one of my favorites since the days when they had double the number of members. I’ve had the chance to see them a few times—from smaller venues to the comfortable chaos of Warped Tour. Every single time, they delivered: punch‑you‑in‑the‑face vocals, heart‑stopping breakdowns, and of course nuclear level energy.

And what makes them even better? They’re genuinely down‑to‑earth guys who value their fans. I only met them briefly at a bar (don’t judge), but that small interaction spoke volumes. It showed their character—making them not just talented musicians, but honestly pretty cool humans, too.
