Ozzie and Sarah’s Journey to Sonic Temple Fest - First Stop: Pierce the Veil

Travel with me and my dog Ozzie as we hit the road to visit some of our favorite bands performing at Sonic Temple.

We kick off our cross‑country journey in San Diego, California, home of Pierce the Veil. Known for their post‑hardcore sound infused with Spanish elements, Pierce the Veil has carved out a space that transcends generations. From elder emo's to Gen Z, their music lives in the ears of pop‑punk, emo, and metal fans alike.

I’ve had the chance to see them perform twice, and both shows were absolutely insane—on and off the stage. Jaime (bass) constantly spinning in circles, Tony (guitar) casually throwing his guitar, and Vic (vocals) delivering an insane range while playing guitar at the same time. And the crowd? Easily one of my favorites to be part of. Everyone is singing every word while you dodge bodies floating above you.

So how good are they, really? The last time I saw Pierce the Veil, they were opening for another band. When their set ended, half the audience left and didn’t stick around for the headliner. NEVER in all my years of concert‑going have I seen that happen. Usually, the room fills up after the opener. Not this time. People came for Pierce the Veil—and once they were done, so were they.

So, make sure you’re at Sonic Temple on Thursday to catch Pierce the Veil. Still not convinced? Check out Ozzie’s rating—and let’s be real, you can’t say no to a dog.

Love,

Sarah and Ozzie
