Up All Night with Meltt

There’s something magical about small venue shows. Everyone in the crowd wants to be there, energy is top tier, and the show feels intimate in a way that larger venues cannot replicate.
Self admittedly, I did not know Meltt at all until the opportunity to interview them and review their latest release, Pathways landed on my desk a few months ago. Since then, they have been a regular listen- and I have boasted about how great these guys are to anyone who will listen.
When I got the opportunity to see Meltt live- I jumped on it. After spending months with their music, I was curious to see whether the atmosphere that drew me into Pathways would translate to the stage. Spoiler alert: It absolutely did.
Before and after the show, some of the guys were lingering by the merch booth, happy to sign anything or take pictures with anyone who asked. It is absolutely refreshing to meet a group of guys who have fanbase but are humble and just out there doing what they love.
The show kicked off with “One Life”—a perfect intro song, if you ask me—before rolling straight into “Hesitate,” one of my personal favorites. From the very first notes, the atmosphere was set, and it never let up.
The entire show was a vibe—and vibes are what Meltt does best. Their dreamy, atmospheric sound translates incredibly well to a live setting, creating a performance that feels immersive without ever losing the intimacy that makes a small venue show so special.
The guys put together a perfectly balanced setlist, carefully highlighting Pathways while still making room for fan favorites from Swim Slowly, Eternal Embers, and Visions. It was the kind of set that gave longtime fans plenty to love while still showcasing the evolution of the band’s sound.
Hearing the crowd sing along to “Up All Night” was truly special. For a moment, the room seemed to light up—the energy spreading from the crowd to the band and back again. Judging by the smiles on everyone’s faces, it was a moment that meant just as much to the guys onstage as it did to those of us watching.
