#HotTake Review - Laura Paragano: 'Bad Moon Rising' (Creedence Clearwater Revival Cover)
We were recently made aware that friend of Alt Revue Laura Paragano had some new music dropping today. Specifically, that she was releasing a cover of CCR's classic "Bad Moon Rising"! I'll tell you, we're here for it. I always have one thing I say about covers, and that is that "You better bring something new to it (the original)".
Paragano accomplishes this in spades with her fantastically dark cover of the timeless CCR tune. The melody is a tantalizing mixture of cymbals with some damn fine electric guitar work throughout (the solo is absolutely killer). This setting is the perfect place for Paragano's vocals to shine and man do they ever shine on this cover. Paragano has successfully reimagined a song that I've heard a million times and freshened it up into a haunting and moody breath of fresh air. If you're a fan of the original give it a listen, if you're a fan of music in general give it a listen, you won't be disappointed.
