EP Review: Skillet - ‘After the Storm’

Rock mainstays Skillet returned recently with a six song EP After the Storm and we’re here for it. The release features three singles with “Scream” (which leads the EP), “Lift Me Up”, which follows and has a killer hook, and “Grave Stomper” which is at the halfway mark for the EP.

Skillet are 30 year vets of the industry, and feature one of the most loyal and persistent followings, with lead single garnering five million streams like it was nothing. After the Storm features some great tunes to put a lighter into the air with. However, my favorite is between “Heaven Help Us” and “Come and Find Me”. “Heaven Help Us” features a nice mix of distortion and more scaled back breaks. While I absolutely loved the sections featuring the duets on vocals in “Come and Find Me”.

In short, After the Storm is another strong entry in the band’s growing discography.
