Artists on the Rise: Aubrey Beard

The world needs more female singer songwriters.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down across a zoom screen with Aubrey Beard. Heard of her? Most likely, the answer is no. But you will.

Aubrey is accompanying Alts’ own Emily Lehr on her rerelease of ‘Friends’ out later this month. (more on that later)

Aubrey cites Paramore, Hannah Montana and early Demi Lovato as influences- adding that Hannah Montana made her ‘want to be a star’. The early 2000s shaped her in many ways, as it did most of millennials and gen z’ers.

Beards latest song- ‘High School Reunion’ touches on the last decade of her life in a very relatable, nostalgic way. The aforementioned influences making their affects known. The song feels very Avril Lavigne/Demi Lovato and should do very well with crowds, young and old alike.

This is just the beginning for Aubrey- shes down to earth, her attitude is infectious, and the girl can sing. Her authenticity makes you feel welcome and appreciated. This translates over to her music beautifully.
