Album Review: The Cure - 'Songs Of A Lost World'

Alternative legends The Cure are back with their newest LP, Songs Of A Lost World. The album represents the first album from the band in 16 years and their 14th studio release overall. The band was able to play some of the songs from the album during their 'Shows Of A Lost World' tour.

While people have really been throwing flowers at the lead track "Alone", I really enjoyed "And Nothing is Forever", the second track. The guitar work in it was so impactful to Lead Singer/Guitarist/Producer Robert Smith's vocals.

The album comes away as a doom filled turn for the band that represents a return to form for them. Smith and Co. continue to show that while they may not make albums regularly anymore, they still have the mettle to do it. So much of what you hear on Songs Of A Lost World is vintage The Cure, but also sharply modern. That's because the band's sound is so timeless.
