1. Joe Pug (For fans of Bob Dylan/Dawes) - A singer/songwriter that has talent beyond his years. Joe Pug most evokes comps to Bob Dylan mainly because he often plays solo as opposed to with a full band as Dawes does. However, his vocals bear a resemblance to Dawes' Taylor Goldsmith. Regardless, he has a relentless alt-country sound that if you're into the genre, you'll be bound to love. He's a bright spot in a ever-growing sea of singer/songwriters.
2. Palehound (For fans of Courtney Barnett) - I was genuinely shocked that Palehound qualified to make this list. Why aren't y'all getting more Palehound in your lives? Her unique indie/folky sound is so unique to the scene right now. She also dropped a new album Black Friday in June that was great. Check her out ASAP!
3. Cathedral Bells (For fans of Emmett Kai) - Cathedral Bells is shoegazey goodness that is sure to get you hook, line, and sinker. 4. IAN SWEET (For fans of Frankie Cosmos) - IAN SWEET has a powerful voice within the alt community and her 2018 album Crush Crusher was absolutely fantastic. She's an artist that has a bit of everything you're looking for, great lyrics, dynamic melodies, and memorable tracks that stay with you.
