Artist Spotlight - EverGlaze

We had the opportunity to interview EverGlaze an up-and-coming alternative band that hails from Houston, TX. They have a fun sound that is reminiscent of Arctic Monkeys, with a bit more alt stylings on top. They played at Otra Fest and we can say they rock live! Check out what the guys had to say below!

1. How did you come to pursue music and how long have you been at it?

As a band we've been playing for almost a year with some minor adjustments to the group from the beginning. We came to pursue music through influences such as our parents, an escape from troubles, as a favor, and love of songwriting.

2. Could you walk us through your process of writing music?

We have multiple ways of writing. Sometimes we start out with a concept that one of us brings to the band, then we flesh it out from there. We try to keep it as collective of a process of possible. And other times we something cool comes out of a jam session during practice.

3. What artists have inspired you in your career?

(Dreco) Cage the Elephant , (Robbie) Vulfpeck, (Michael) Arctic Monkeys, (Taylor) Dr Shepherd, (Panda) Eminem, spice girls, and Motown

4. Do you have any favorite music gear (guitars, amps, effects pedals, keyboards, etc.) that you love to use?  If so, what’s the story on them?

Motown (dreco) the black stratocaster that i play on stage is the first guitar i ever got. (Panda) i love the evans drum heads (uv1 coated) that i got turned on to by my friend Chris who owns Music Go Round in Houston Texas. He helped me bring my tone to a whole new level. (Michael) honestly my amp is my baby. my vox ac15  is my go to amp for all of my shows because of its versatility in tone.

5. Can you describe the vibe at your live shows?  Also, what do you enjoy most about a venue when you do a show?

We keep it as energetic as possible.we love an energetic crowd.  if people are grooving to the music then we are doing our job.

6. What is one thing that you want the public to know about your music?

We really hope our music connects with people. we grew up listening to songs that really connected with us and we want to have the same effect on our audiences.

7. Do you have any upcoming projects you would like fans to know about?

We are in the process of recording our first ep and plan on releasing our first single in the next few months.
