WILD is a trio based in Los Angeles comprised of Lauren Luiz (vocals), Tyler Thompson (producer/bass) and Zach Daegatano (guitar/vocals). There music is a mix of indie, folk, and pop that makes for a fun and uplifting listen. There music is extremely catchy and the trio has a masterful grasp on melody and harmonization. This is a band that you could easily see becoming the next Bleachers. They are doing pretty well for themselves already as is, they have a couple of tracks that have already exceeded 4,000,000 listens on Spotify and they played SXSW in 2017. They are a band you definitely need to listen to, also check out what they had to say as they make some powerful points about the power of positivity in music and mental health.

How did you come to pursue music and how long have you been at it?

"Collectively, we all kind of came from similar backgrounds where we grew up with a huge love for music that inspired us to pick up a guitar or start singing. We’ve all been playing music for 10 years or more."

Could you walk us through your process of writing music?

"Normally, we’ll all get together and one of us will have an idea. It can be a lyric line, a chord progression or a hook melody and then we will all work together to bring that to a finished product."

What artists have inspired you in your career?

"This is always such a hard question. But we’ll just name a few each!

  • Lauren: the Decemberists, Carol King, phoebe bridgers

  • Zach: the Ramones, John Mayer, Mumford and Sons

  • Tyler: Sigur Ros, M83, fun."

Do you have any favorite music gear (guitars, amps, effects pedals, keyboards, etc.) that you love to use? If so, what’s the story on them?

"We have this one vocal sampler from the 80’s that we love to make weird sounds with and add it to our songs to give them an interesting texture that I think most people catch on to subconsciously. It’s on every song we’ve made but you would never notice it unless you were listening for it."

Can you describe the vibe at your live shows? Also, what do you enjoy most about a venue when you do a show?

"The vibe at our shows is simply fun. We want to bring a high energy, positive, open environment to love shows. We want people to do what they want whether that is to dance or sit in the back and just enjoy it. Our set is very fast and high energy, we all sing live and do what we can to bring the energy from our records to the stage. We all enjoy free beer and an on stage sound guy"

What is one thing that you want the public to know about your music?

"You’re not alone and there is a place for you. We have underlying messages in some of our songs about mental health and how we cope with it. But mostly we try to share positivity in a world that desperately needs it. We focus on unconditional love, traveling the world and being with friends. We hope people hear that and know that we’re here for them and we’re always open to talk and be friends!"

Do you have any upcoming projects you would like fans to know about?

YES! We are working on a new EP which we are very excited about. We will be talking more about it soon so follow us online to be the first to hear the details. We have put a lot of work into it and can’t wait to release it.
